Financing a Custom Built Home
"One Families Journey" …
Little did we know when our journey started that we would need to obtain a Finance
degree. Well, at least that is what it first seemed. We are a family living in the
United Kingdom returning to the US and wanted to build a custom home. We had
built previous Builder homes and had no knowledge in the process of building a
custom home.
We began discussing our options with various lenders and soon found out that not
only did we need to ask very specific questions to get vague answers but we ended up
knowing more about the process than they did. Hence, we began our search for a
Construction Loan specialist that understood the ins and outs of financing and
building a custom home.
In our search, we found three companies that professed to be construction loan lenders
and experts. After hours of discussions, it became very apparent who knew this
business. Charter Lending was the only one that not only
provided the information we needed but provided us guidance throughout the entire
process and was willing to call us internationally. He truly understood the custom
home building process and is entirely customer focused when presenting options.
There was no need to ask pointed questions, because he freely discussed concerns,
rates, options, and timings which included a one-time close and float down rate for
our loan. He was entirely committed, professional, and frank regarding our needs as
customers and what we should look out for during the building process.
Not only was the customer service outstanding, but he saved us 1.5% interest rate on
the competition which in turn saved us (his customers) thousands of dollars over the
life of the loan.
We are very grateful to Charter and thier services and we highly recommend to anyone, no
matter where they are in the world.
Sincerely,
